Cleaning Up

These past couple days I've been spending a significant amount of time clearing out everything that's been building up over the past year and a half of inactivity.  I have over three thousand emails I've been working through!  Three thousand!  Granted, most of them are newsletters and email subscriptions, but it's still a lot.  To top it all off I'm taking the time to go through everything and keep what I think will be useful, and end the subscriptions to the things that aren't applicable anymore.  It's probably going to take me a couple of months to get it all finished.  Oh well, it is what it is, and it will be worth it.

Last night I went through all of my blog subscriptions, which was quite an undertaking, but it's one more thing off of my to-do list to help get this blog ready.  It was kind of bitter sweet just because several of the blogs weren't being updated anymore, and I can remember really enjoying them.  It was sad to see they were done with.  On the other hand, some of the blogs that have stayed strong made me very excited to see how they've kept going.

While I keep chipping away at my email and start shaping this place back up again, the next step will be going through all of my old blog entries and cleaning up my actual blog.  I'm looking forward to reading all of them again.  It's always fun for me to go back and read my writing.  I end up pleasantly surprised, slightly embarassed, and highly amused all in one.  My fiction writing is always all over the place.  I remember going back and reading some stuff from about five years ago, and while I knew what I was trying to say, it was some of the most confusing stuff I've ever read.  To add to the whole situation, the writing I was reading was before I became a Christian and so all of the philosophy I had been buying into was in it.  It was surreal and hysterical all at the same time, and difficult to believe I actually wrote it because of how much I've changed over the past several years.

Today my husband and I have been finishing up some loose ends with work.  Once we get home I'm planning on tidying up the kitchen, working out, and deciding on what to make for dinner.  Today we had a really good discussion about our daily schedule and the things we want to prioritize our day around.  I can't wait to see how it will go these next couple weeks.

Some upcoming posts I've been planning out:

-Taking baby steps to develop new habits and complete projects.  Specifically in regards to the habits that are necessary for everyday healthy living and hobbies.

-Organizing my sewing room/office.  This was a project that should have been finished two years ago, but it's finally now coming to a close.

-Bible study and devotional time.

-Book reviews.
